It is never
too late for a dream of the past to return with the strength of a well-tempered
steel. Beryl Gardinant's story is far from over, as it has been officially
confirmed that the second season of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master
Swordsman (Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei or Naru) will premiere on
Japanese television on July 8.
To ignite
the spirits of the community, the production committee released a new full
trailer and promotional poster that ratify its debut
in TV Asahi's "IMAnimation W" programming block. In addition, it was
revealed that the rock band Unicorn will be in charge of
performing the opening song entitled "Kurenai no Ha"
(Crimson Leaf), bringing a vibrant energy to the new challenges that our humble
village instructor will face.
In the
technical section, the Passione studio and Hayabusa
Film repeat under the direction of Akio Kazumi. The script
is once again in the hands of Kunihiko Okada, while the character design and
animation direction fall back to Satsuki Hayasaka. The unmistakable music
of Yasuharu Takanashi will accompany each duel with his
powerful compositions.
The plot
picks up the journey of Beryl, who after spending years teaching fencing in a
remote village, was summoned by his former student to be a special instructor
for the knights in the capital. Now, his reunion with former pupils turned
elite warriors will be complicated by the emergence of mercenary groups with
hidden agendas and the scrutiny of the church.
