If your
recurring fantasy is to be the ugly duckling of the family who out of nowhere
turns out to have a power capable of destroying entire kingdoms, then get the
popcorn ready. The production committee of The Oblivious Saint Can't
Contain Her Power (or Mujikaku Seijo wa Kyo mo Muishiki ni
Chikara or Tare Nagasu for purists) has just released its second
promotional trailer. This trailer not only confirms that the series will land
in the competitive summer season this July, but also gives us a
sneak peek of "Unknown Me", the catchy ending played by
the group Utahime Dream All Stars.
A lineup
of voices fit for royalty
Knowing
that an anime of political intrigue and arranged marriages needs impeccable
performances, the Magic Bus and Picante Circus studios
did not skimp on budget. The leading trio that we already knew is joined by a
couple of talents that the otaku community loves madly:
- Rie Takahashi as Carolina
The legendary voice of Megumin in KonoSuba and Emilia in Re:Zero, now in the role of our clueless protagonist. - Makoto Furukawa as Edward
Saitama himself in One Punch Man and Miyuki Shirogane in Kaguya-sama: Love is War. - Haruka Shiraishi as Flora
Known for bringing Asirpa to life in Golden Kamuy. - Shunichi Toki as Theodore
Famous for his role as Kazutora Hanemiya in Tokyo Revengers. - Inori Minase as Melissa
Our eternal Rem in Re:Zero and Hestia in DanMachi joining the ranks of this magical drama.
The Team
Behind Magic and Forced Marriages
In the
director's chair we have Mitsutaka Noshitani, who will work on the
scripts adapted by Toko Machida. All this will be seasoned by the
soundtrack by SUPA LOVE, and to open each episode with the
energy at its best, we will listen to the song "Windmaker" performed
by the artist Kaya. Definitely, the original light novel written
by Almond and illustrated by Yoshiro Ambe is
in good hands.
Synopsis
of The Oblivious Saint Can't Contain Her Power
Carolina is
the marginalized daughter of a powerful duke. While her father is the kingdom's
distinguished prime minister and her older sister is a prodigious mage destined
to become the next Santa, Carolina has resigned herself to living quietly in
the shadow of both, taking on the role of the family's black sheep. However,
her drab and peaceful life goes to hell when a sudden royal decree forces her
into a political marriage to the formidable "Bloodthirsty Prince" of
the neighboring Malcosias Empire. What no one knows, not even herself, is that
Carolina has a huge and latent power that will begin to manifest itself in the
most unpredictable ways possible in her new home.
