On the same day that the final episode of the fourth season of Classroom of the Elite aired, on June 24, 2026, the announcement that fans were waiting for arrived: the fifth season is confirmed. The news was accompanied by a promotional image drawn especially to mark the moment, closing one arc and opening another without leaving room for doubt about the future of the series.

The fourth season covered the first semester of the sophomore arc at Tokyo Advanced Nurturing High School, the meritocratic institution where students compete in a system that ranks classes from A to D based on their performance. Kiyotaka Ayanokoji and his companions continue in that complex dynamic of alliances, strategies and rivalries that has defined the series since its first seasons. The fifth season will pick up exactly where the fourth season left off.

The base light novel, published under the MF Bunko J imprint since 2015, exceeds 8.4 million copies in circulation, which gives a clear idea of the demand that sustains the project throughout its multiple installments. No details about the production team, cast or premiere date of the fifth season have been revealed for now.

About Classroom of the Elite

Classroom of the Elite (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e) is a light novel by Syougo Kinugasa with illustrations by Shunsaku Tomose published by MF Bunko J since 2015. The story follows Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, a deliberately opaque student who hides his true abilities as he navigates the Tokyo Advanced Nurturing High School system, where students are evaluated for everything they do and the system's resources are distributed based on that performance. The series is distinguished within the genre by its focus on psychological strategy, power dynamics within groups, and the exploration of themes such as merit, equality, and human nature under competitive pressure.
