Kenshiro is not done. The first cour of the new Fist of the North Star anime (Hokuto no Ken) concluded its fourteenth episode on June 26, and on the same day Warner Bros. Japan confirmed that there will be more: the second cour will arrive in 2027. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser that previews episode 15, the first of the new stage of the story.

The new adaptation, produced in celebration of the manga's 40th anniversary, uses CG animation and the production team has described the project as being more faithful to the source material than previous adaptations. The first cour started on April 10, 2026 and was available on both television and streaming platforms worldwide. The teaser for episode 15 offers the first look at how Kenshiro's story will continue, his confrontation with the powerful masters of the apocalypse and the figure of Raoh, who has proclaimed himself king of the new world.

The opening "Hallelujah" is performed by Alexandros, while the ending theme is a remix of Crystal King's "Ai o Torimodose!!" from the original anime, performed by Toshl. The combination of a new song with the reinvented classic establishes the sound identity of a production that seeks to honor the legacy while renewing its presentation.

About Fist of the North Star

Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) is a manga by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara published in Weekly Shonen Jump between 1983 and 1988. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where Kenshiro, successor to a lethal martial art, roams a nuclear wasteland protecting the weak while facing other combat masters and figures from his past, including his "brother" Raoh. The first anime adaptation aired between 1984 and 1988 with 152 episodes in total, becoming an absolute benchmark in the action genre. The new CG series is the most ambitious project in the franchise since then, and the confirmation of a second cour ensures that the story will reach some of its most anticipated moments.
