Finding a
small refuge to disconnect from the suffocating routine of adult life is almost
a miracle, especially if that corner of peace appears in the least expected
place and with the most unexpected company. The production of the animated
adaptation of (Yani
Su Futari's Super no Ura) officially revealed its second main
promotional video, confirming that its formal premiere is scheduled for
this coming July 9. This trailer gives us a much more intimate look at the
routine of its protagonists and serves to present a fragment of "Ichijiku
Kemuri" (Fig Smoke), the opening theme performed by the acclaimed
rock band ZUTOMAYO. It should be noted that a previous batch
of 12 mini-episodes has already begun a digital advance broadcast since June 3,
preparing the ground for the full premiere on streaming platforms.

The
Production Team
Behind the
scenes, the direction of the project is shared between Tadato Suzuki and Aoi
Mori under the shelter of the Asahi Production studio.
The scripts that adapt this leisurely relationship are the work of Mio
Inoue, while Yasuka Otaki is in charge of transferring the
designs of the characters to the screen. To envelop each nightly conversation
in the ideal atmosphere, composers Shin Kono and Sayaka
Aoki are in charge of the music, working hand in hand with sound
director Kohei Yoshida. It is worth remembering that the ending of
the series will feature the song "Fiction", performed
by the popular Japanese musician imase.

The
original story began its journey independently on X (Twitter) in March 2022 by
its creator, Jinushi. The enormous reception from readers led
Square Enix to take it to the pages of Big Gangan magazine in
August of that same year, managing to position itself in eighth place in the
prestigious Manga Taisho awards in 2023. In fact, the manga continues to expand
strongly, with the release of its ninth compilation volume scheduled for this
July 24.
The plot
introduces us to Sasaki, a middle-aged office worker completely consumed by the
exhausting corporate rhythm of his day-to-day life. Her only consolation when
she leaves the office is to meet Yamada, an always cheerful cashier at the
local supermarket. However, one night things change when he can't match his
shift and, while looking for a space to smoke behind the store, he meets
Tayama, a girl in a biker jacket and a rebellious style who invites him to
share a cigarette. From those brief minutes shared in the semi-darkness, a
tender and mature complicity begins to blossom between the two without Sasaki
suspecting the true identity of his new partner.
These types
of leisurely and mature romances are completely different from the typical
school drama full of infinite misunderstandings that abounds in today's industry.
