Kazuya and Chizuru are going to live together.
And that, for those who follow the series, is already enough to know that
complications are coming. Rent-a-Girlfriend officially
confirmed its sixth season, which will adapt the Cohabitation
Arc, accompanying the announcement with a promotional image drawn by
character designer Kanna Hirayama. The illustration shows Kazuya, Chizuru and Mini toasting
together in a clearly celebratory tone.
The fifth season aired between April and June
2026, and the confirmation of the sixth comes directly after its conclusion.
The Cohabitation Arc, as the name suggests, takes the dynamic between the
protagonists into a territory where the distance they maintained is reduced in
a way that neither of them can completely ignore. For now there are no details
about the premiere date, the production team or changes in the cast for this
installment. That information is expected later.
About Rent-a-Girlfriend
Rent-a-Girlfriend (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) is a manga by Reiji
Miyajima serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine since
July 2017, with over 15 million copies in circulation. The story
follows Kazuya Kinoshita, a college student in Tokyo who falls in
love with Chizuru Mizuhara, an exceptionally beautiful "bride
for hire" who also happens to be his college classmate. Chizuru's real
identity must be kept secret, and that tension between what is said and what is
felt is the engine of the series. The anime has run six seasons since its first
premiere in 2020, also adding a live-action drama adaptation in 2022.
