The most feared hitman in the world can't
handle high school, and he can't handle the fact that the story
continues. Kill Blue announced its second season on
the same day that the final episode of the first season aired, on June
27, 2026, with a special illustration drawn by Tadatoshi Fujimaki himself
to celebrate the news.
The announcement came without additional
details about the premiere date, possible changes to the cast or production
team of the second season. These data are expected in the coming months. What
is clear is that the story of Juzo Ogami, the legendary killer who
woke up one day as a teenager and had to go back to school to find out what
happened to him, continues its path in the anime.
The first season premiered in April 2026,
produced by the CUE studio under the direction of Hiro
Kaburagi. It was the first time that this studio, founded by DMM in 2023,
took on the main animation production of an anime for television. The opening
was performed by the South Korean group aespa with the
song "ATTITUDE", while the ending was performed by
the South Korean boy group RIIZE with "KILL
SHOT".
Kill Blue is a manga by Tadatoshi Fujimaki,
the same author behind Kuroko's Basketball, published in
Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from April 2023 until its
conclusion on September 1, 2025, with 13 volumes collected. The story
follows Juzo Ogami, a legendary assassin whose name instills fear
even among his own colleagues and who had never failed a job, until one day he
woke up transformed into a teenager with no memory of how it happened. His only
option to solve the mystery is to return to the place he never imagined he
would set foot in: school. The series mixes the action of the thriller with the
comedy that arises from a veteran assassin trying to fit into the everyday life
of a high school student.
