The most useless and beloved group of
adventurers in the otaku community is preparing to return to
the ring. During the special event "Colorful", organized to celebrate
the tenth anniversary of the legendary isekai comedy franchise,
the production committee gave us the news that all fans have
been waiting for. It was officially confirmed that the fourth season,
titled KonoSuba – God's blessing on this wonderful world! 4, will
land on Japanese television in the year 2027. The announcement was
accompanied by an emotional promotional image that shows Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin,
and Darkness from behind under the slogan "let's embark on a new
adventure."
The release date was not the only bombshell of
the day, as the technical section underwent a drastic adjustment. It seems that
this isekai simply refuses to take root in one place, since the animated
adaptation will go directly into the hands of the ENGI studio,
leaving behind the work that DEEN, J.C. Staff and Drive did in the previous
installments. To calm the waters and avoid massive heart attacks in the fandom,
the production confirmed that Takaomi Kanasaki will return as
chief director to keep the essence of the work intact, while Manabu
Kurihara (who worked on The Detective Is Already Dead)
will assume the role of main director. In addition, immovable pillars such as
screenwriter Makoto Uezu and the peculiar character
designer Koichi Kikuta will remain on board to ensure that the
visuals remain a real gem.
The voices that bring chaos to life
Of course, a new season would be absolutely
nothing without the incomparable screams and tantrums of its extravagant
protagonists. Fortunately, the triumphant return of the entire main and
supporting voice cast was confirmed, who will return to the
recording booth under the impeccable sound direction of veteran Yoshikazu
Iwanami. With a legacy of ten years behind him and an event that he even
took advantage of to revive nostalgia with an unpublished musical arrangement
of the mythical song "fantastic dreamer" performed
by Machico, the wait until 2027 will be long but undoubtedly worth it.
