Fans of visual novels have a
giant reason to celebrate. During the special event "Yuzu Soft Songfes
2026", the renowned developer Yuzu Soft dropped a huge
bombshell by officially confirming that its acclaimed title Senren
Banka (Senren*Banka) will finally make the long-awaited leap to
the small screen. Through a first statement from the production
committee, it was revealed that this new animated adaptation will
land on Japanese television during the year 2027, bringing back to
life one of the most beloved stories by players since its original release for
the company's tenth anniversary.
For those who don't know this authentic gem released
in 2016, the premise drags us to Hoori, a remote mountain town so far from
civilization that not even the trains stop there. Despite the isolation, its
beautiful hot springs and traditional atmosphere made it a tourist paradise
that shelters the Murasamemaru, a divine sword stuck in the stone that no one
has been able to move. The disaster begins when the protagonist, the student
Masaomi Arichi, manages to get it out but accidentally breaks it in half. To
pay for such sacrilege, the poor boy is forced to marry the town's head
priestess, unleashing a chain of paranormal events, mysterious ghost girls, and
ancient curses that threaten the villagers.

The best news for the purist community is
that the producers didn't want to risk changing the winning formula. It was
confirmed that the original voice cast of the video game will
return to play their respective characters in this new anime. In addition,
legendary singer KOTOKO will also reprise her iconic role to
perform the opening theme, keeping the franchise's sonic magic
intact. Although details about which animation studio will take the reins of
the project were kept for the moment, having these talented voice actresses
back is already enough guarantee to raise the hype through the
roof.
