After a prolonged silence and an adjustment in the calendar that made more than one follower break out in a cold sweat, the story of the detective and his unfortunate assistant is ready to take flight again. The production of the second season of The Detective Is Already Dead (Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru.) revealed its third official trailer along with a new promotional image, confirming that the series will return to screens this coming October 7.

The new video trailer offered a deeper look at the surprises this sequel holds, officially introducing two new characters to join the plot. Voice actress Akari Komiyama will lend her voice to Mia Whitlock, while the renowned Nobuhiko Okamoto will take on the role of Scarlet. Although the publisher Kadokawa had initially planned to release these new episodes in the middle of the year, the production preferred to take a few extra months to fine-tune the details before their arrival in the fall.

The main cast of the first installment will be back almost in their entirety. Arata Nagai will reprise his role as the troubled Kimihiko Kimizuka, accompanied by Saki Miyashita in the role of the unforgettable Siesta and Nights. The cast is complemented by the talents of Ayana Taketatsu as Nagisa Natsunagi, Kanon Takao as Yui Saikawa, Saho Shirasu as Charlotte Arisaka Anderson, Mai Fuchigami as Fubi Kase, Yumiri Hanamori as Hell, Maria Naganawa as Alicia, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Komori.

Behind the scenes, the ENGI studio is once again taking the reins of animation with the direction of Manabu Kurihara. The scripts will again be in charge of Deko Akao, while Yosuke Ito returns to be in charge of character design. In the musical section, the composer 40mP was not only responsible for the soundtrack, but also wrote and arranged the main themes. Singer Kome will perform the opening theme titled "Kono Shinzo ni Hanabata wo," while Kagura Nana will return to lend her vocals to the closing theme song "Hakuchumu."
