After two
seasons of awkward looks, misunderstandings, and moments that made us want to
yell at them to confess once and for all, it looks like we'll finally see how
Ichikawa and Yamada fare as boyfriends. It was officially announced that the
third season of The Dangers in My Heart will premiere in April 2027,
accompanied by a new trailer and a promotional image that show the couple
enjoying this new stage of their relationship.
The
illustration features Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada sharing a swing during
sunset, with a phrase announcing the beginning of a new world for the
protagonist. Of course, the trailer is not far behind either, as it recovers
several well-known characters and ends with Yamada announcing that he is
dating Ichikawa. After everything they had to go through to get here, it
seems that the girl doesn't have too many problems showing off her boyfriend.
As fans
will recall, the second season ended with the protagonists officially becoming
a couple. However, getting a girlfriend doesn't mean Ichikawa's troubles are
over. Our dear boy still has quite a few insecurities to overcome, especially now
that he will have to learn how to function within a romantic relationship.
The new
season will address precisely the first challenges of their courtship,
while both continue with their respective school activities. Among the upcoming
events are Ichikawa's entrance exams, Yamada's professional commitments, a
study camp and the last cultural festival of his high school years. So,
although they are finally together, they still have quite a few awkward moments
ahead of them.
The trailer
also shows the return of Moeko Sekine, Kana Ichikawa and Akira Momoyama, in
addition to anticipating the appearance of other characters that will have
importance during this stage. The animation will continue to be in charge of Shin-Ei
Animation, the studio responsible for the previous two seasons, with
Hiroaki Akagi as general director and Dali Chen as director.
It should
be remembered that The Dangers in My Heart, known in Japan as Boku no
Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu, premiered its first season in April 2023, followed
by a second installment in January 2024. The franchise also hit theaters with The
Dangers in My Heart: The Movie, a film released in February 2026 that
collected events from the anime and incorporated additional scenes. Its
distribution included countries such as Mexico, the United States, France and
Germany.
The
Dangers in My Heart manga is over
On the
other hand, the news comes shortly after Norio Sakurai's original manga
concluded its publication on September 15, ending more than eight years of
serialization. The work began in March 2018 within Akita Shoten's Weekly
Shonen Champion magazine, before moving to the Champion Cross
digital platform. Its fourteenth and final volume is scheduled for release on
November 6 in Japan.
Of course,
the end of the manga does not mean that the franchise is going to disappear. In
addition to the third season, the story features a light novel written by Kota
Nozomi and a spin-off manga titled The Dangers in My Heart: A Romantic
Comedy Will Not Start. For now, the anime still does not have an exact
release date beyond April 2027.
