Eiichi Kuboyama: "The series could be delayed beyond July"

Animation director Eiichi Kuboyama made a post through his personal Twitter account mentioning that productions postponed for July could be postponed again if Japan's current situation with the Coronavirus endures.

"There are some rumors that this season's anime is being delayed due to problems with the voice actors, but the reality is very different ...

To be honest, whether or not the animation studio closes has almost no impact; but if the company that is in charge of the recording closes, many projects will be really affected ...

Until now, I have postponed the scheduled transmission for April to July by my own decision, but if the situation remains as it has been until now, even a transmission in July is impossible. ”

Kuboyama has participated in a large number of series serving as director of episodes and animation, highlighting Blood +, Chihayafuru and Dog Days, and participating to a lesser extent in series such as Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Toaru Majutsu no Index, Nisekoi and Shirobako.

The current Coronavirus pandemic in Japan has delayed the broadcast of various series that were slated to premiere this season, such as the second season of Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu, the third season of Oregairu, and the second half of Sword Art Online. : Alicization - War of Underworld, to name a few.

However, this has not been limited to premieres, since the second season of the IDOLiSH7 anime, which was currently broadcast, announced that the rest of its episodes will be delayed for the same reason, thus opening the possibility that the series that are currently broadcast will be postponed in the same way, depending on how they are being produced and how the current situation evolves.
