This year's issue # 20 of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from publisher Shueisha announced that Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu's manga Yakusoku no Neverland will be paused from one issue.
The magazine clarified that the manga will skip issue # 21 scheduled for April 20 and will resume in combined issue # 22- # 23 on April 27. However, issue # 21 will be delayed by Japan's current healthcare contingency, so publisher Shueisha will release a combined issue # 21- # 22 on April 27. This is why the manga will return in issue # 23 on May 11. (Since Golden Week is going through, so there is another one week break).
For their part, Shirai and Demizu began publishing the Yakusoku no Neverland manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in August 2016, and the series entered its final arc since September 2018. In August 2019, it was announced. that the manga had entered its plot climax. The publisher published the eighteenth compilation volume on March 4.
The work inspired an anime adaptation released in January 2019, and a second season is confirmed to premiere in October. A live-action film with slight modifications to the plot will be released on December 18.
