The author of the Kuzu no Honkai manga, Mengo Yokoyari, published a new one-shot manga titled Ookami ni Naritai, on the Shonenisha publisher's Shonen Jump Plus website.

The one-shot marks Yokoyari's debut on the site and totaled 30 pages. For its part, Yokoyari published the Kuzu no Honkai manga in Square Enix's Big Gangan magazine between 2012 and 2017. The publisher compiled the work in a total of eight volumes.

The play inspired an anime adaptation and another to a live-action series, and both aired in parallel, premiering in January 2017. Both adaptations fully covered the events of the original manga.

Following this, Yokoyari published a spin-off manga titled Kuzu no Honkai Décor in the same magazine between November 2017 and May 2018. Square Enix publisher compiled this manga in a single volume.

Synopsis of Kuzu no Honkai
High school student Hanabi Yasuraoka has been in love with Narumi Kanai, her childhood friend who is now her teacher. But from Narumi's point of view when he meets the music teacher, Akane Minagawa, he realizes that Narumi is interested in Akane and not in her.

Hanabi meets Mugi Awaya, another student who is in love with Akane, who was her high school tutor. Both agree to carry a false relationship to satisfy the emptiness and loneliness of the other, both sexual and emotional. However, they firmly agree not to fall in love with each other, and to cancel the relationship once their feelings are reciprocated.
