Naitō launched the manga in Monthly Shōnen Ace in January 2019. The publisher published the manga's second volume on January 24. The manga adapts the television anime series Kemono Friends 2.
The second season of the anime Kemono Friends, premiered in January 2019. Furthermore, the first season premiered in January 2017 with a total of 12 episodes. Crunchyroll aired both seasons according to its broadcast in Japan.
Nexon's original Kemono Friends app game launched in early 2016 and ended the service in December of that year, even before the anime first season aired.
The franchise has also inspired smartphone apps. The Kemono Friends Picross game for the Nintendo Switch launched in Japan and the West in October 2018. The Kemono Friends 3 smartphone game and the Kemono Friends 3: Planet Tours arcade game were released last year.
The first play in the franchise premiered in June 2017, and a second-stage play premiered in November 2018. A new play premiered last fall.
