The Kinnikuman manga will have a one-month break for coronavirus

Manga creator duo Yudetamago announced at the end of chapter 313 of their Kinnikuman series that this serialization will have a pause of about a month due to the current effects of the state of emergency in Japan from the COVID-19 virus. The manga artists explained that they often meet to work in a studio with their assistants to produce each of the series' chapters in a process that lasts long hours of work. This is why they decided to pause serialization, prioritizing their health, as well as that of their collaborators, as several of them live with older people.

After receiving approval from publisher Shueisha to pause the manga, the artists announced that the manga is tentatively scheduled to return on May 18. However, this date may change if the situation with the current pandemic does not improve and if that happens, they will notify their readers.

The Kinnikuman manga first began serializing in 1979 and ended in 1987. Subsequently, the authors decided to retake the manga in 2011. The series currently has 70 published volumes.
