Development of a new Re: Zero video game announced

Developer Spike Chunsoft announced the development of a video game based on the Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu light novels to be titled Re: Zero - The Prophecy of The Throne ( Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu - Itsuwarino Ou-sen Kouho , by its title in Japanese), and it will be released for the PlayStation 4 , Nintendo Switch and PC consoles next winter.
The story will focus on the arc of the Royal Selection of the first season of the anime. In addition, it will include new events and alternative parallel lines, which are being supervised by the original author of the Tappei Nagatsuki light novels Additionally, Shinichirou Otsuka , the original illustrator, is participating as a character designer.
Tappei Nagatsuki began publishing the light novels in April 2012 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website  , and subsequently the Kadokawa publishing company   began publishing on paper with illustrations by Shinichirou Otsuka in January 2014.
The play has inspired multiple manga adaptations and an anime adaptation released in April 2016, the second season of which will premiere in July this year  after being delayed  from its original date in April.





Synopsis of Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu

From one moment to the next, Subaru Natsuki has been taken to another world when leaving a store. Puzzled, he tries to understand the situation but it only worsens more and more when he is attacked by thugs. Miraculously saved by a silver-haired young woman, Subaru deeply grateful decides to help her to return the favor. Unfortunately they fail and are brutally murdered. Subaru then awakens in the place he was originally sent to, discovering that he has a unique ability, "return from death." Will Subaru be able to survive and help her savior?
