Funimation announced that it will host the virtual anime convention titled Funimation Con 2020 between July 3-4 this year. The company describes the event as "a two-day live stream of cosplay meetings, anime industrial panels, lectures, and more."
Additionally, the Anime Lockdown virtual convention just took place between May 1 and 3. The event included industry panels, special guests as voice actors, and a wide variety of anime-related programming.
This year's edition of the Anime Expo that was planned to take place between July 2 and 5 in Los Angeles was canceled on April 17, the planning team reported that this decision responds to efforts to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the United States.
