Now you can take a virtual tour inside the Ghibli Museum

The “Ghibli Museum” normally has a strict privacy policy by preventing attendees from taking pictures and videos inside the facilities, but it is currently closed, so there is no visitor who could violate these rules.

That is why the museum staff opened an official YouTube channel offering a virtual tour within the facilities that will be available during the cease of operations. The first video was uploaded on April 14 and the most recent update was on April 28.

Tour in the Ghibli Museum

The museum is a combination of interior and exterior sites inspired by the feature films of the popular studio. The first video shows the mural present in the lobby.

The second video uploaded last week features the "room where movies are born." This room “belongs” to a boy who wants to create his own feature film and is full of inspirational objects, that is, sketches and recreations of objects present in the Studio Ghibli films.

The most recent video takes the viewer to the museum after dark, showing off their beautiful stained glass windows and decorative accessories.

Apparently, there is no definite time between each update, so it is suggested to subscribe to the museum's official YouTube channel to be aware of updates. In fact, the "Ghibli Museum" is normally only open during the month of April, with tickets selling in advance in March. However, this year the sale of tickets was suspended indefinitely, anticipating the imminent closure of public spaces due to the then possible complications derived from the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan.
