Takami Asano, guitarist and vocalist of the band Godiego, passed away on May 12 at the age of 68. According to the report, his family found him collapsed at his home, so he was transferred to the hospital in an emergency where he was soon declared dead.

The artist will have a posthumous event for his fans to express their condolences. For his part, Asano was one of the founding members of the band Godiego in 1975 and his use of the guitar synthesizer (which was unknown in Japan at that time) and other innovative instruments were an emblem of the band. The group produced several singles that were highly successful, such as "Monkey Magic" and "Gandhara".

In the anime, the band is perhaps recognized for their participation in the 1979 animated film Galaxy Express 999, as well as the musical themes for the film Sekai Meisaku Douwa: Aladdin to Mahou no Lamp and the series Silk Road Boy Yuto.

On his own, Asano composed the soundtrack for multiple Taito games, such as Chase H.Q. and Special Criminal Investigation, as well as the Atlus game, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor.

On the other hand, the leader of the Godiego gang, Mickie Yoshino, mentioned that Asano was the member of the gang that he knew for the longest time and that he is immensely distressed by his loss. Vocalist Yukihide Takekawa explained that he had barely chatted on the phone with Asano two weeks ago and named him "the almighty guitarist" whose performance could be synchronized with any song. Finally, Takekawa prayed for the eternal rest of his dear friend.
