In this year's issue # 26 of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine it was announced that the next issue of the magazine will be a combined issue # 27- # 28 on June 3. Additionally, there will also be a second combined edition # 31- # 32 on July 1st.
The publisher made this decision as a preventive measure against the new coronavirus disease pandemic (COVID-19) for the manga authors. Shogakukan editor-in-chief Takenori Ishihara explained that the staff made this difficult decision to lighten the authors' workload. The editor apologized to readers who enjoy a weekly magazine and asked for their understanding. While he thinks that these difficult times will continue for a while, he added that he prays for everyone's health and is sure that "the quiet times from before" will return very soon.
Both the manga written and illustrated by Mitsuru Adachi, Mix and the one written and illustrated by Megumi Osuga, Matinee to Soiree, are currently on hiatus this month due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a measure to prevent authors from meeting with their assistants. Both sleeves are published in the sister magazine, Monthly Shonen Sunday, from the same publisher.
