The Yunosuke Yoshinaga illustrated and written manga series Break Blade is reported to have surpassed 3.7 million copies in circulation. Additionally, in commemoration of the publication of its hundredth chapter, a special illustration was published.

Yoshinaga has published the manga on the Comic Meteor website of the Flex Comix publisher since 2012, after having published it on two different sites since 2006. The publisher published the eighteenth compilation volume on March 18.

The work inspired a film hexalogy produced by Production IG studios in collaboration with Xebec, under the direction of Nobuyoshi Habara and released between May 2010 and March 2011. Subsequently, the series also inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation with the same production team, released in April 2014.

Break Blade Synopsis

On the Cruzon continent, an impending war between the Kingdom of Krishna and the nation of Athens is in full swing. The inhabitants of these lands are able to use the quartz for whatever purpose they wish. However, one person, Rygart Arrow, cannot. He is a "non-magician", making him unable to use the quartz. But this feature allows you to pilot an ancient golem, powerful enough to go against an entire army.
