The postponement of the broadcast responds to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the production of the series. The staff plans to rebroadcast episodes # 5 through # 7 in the coming weeks, to finally resume normal broadcast with the eighth episode until July 11.
The series premiered on April 4. For his part, Mitsuda began publishing the manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in March 2015, and the publisher published the nineteenth compilation volume on April 16.
The work is a sequel to the manga Major, written and illustrated by Takuya Mitsuda, and published in Shogakukan magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday between August 1994 and July 2010, with a total of 78 compilation volumes. This manga inspired a 154-episode anime adaptation produced by Studio Hibari and released in November 2004.
