The project seems to be moving forward at full speed, and now it's been announced that Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Immaculate) is in the final stages of negotiations to star in the "Mobile Suit Gundam" film, produced by Legendary Pictures and Sunrise. The news was reported by journalist Jeff Sneider in his newsletter InSneider and also supported by Deadline and Variety.

This follows the announcement that Jim Mickle (Sweet Tooth) will be taking the reins as writer and director of the project, replacing Jordan Vogt-Roberts. If you missed that info, you can check it out in our previous report . There are still no details about which character Sweeney will play or how she'll fit into the story, which remains a mystery. But with this signing, expectations continue to grow. Will she be a mobile suit pilot? Or an original character created for the film?
