Crunchyroll will air the second season of Re: Zero

Through its official Twitter account for Latin America, the Crunchyroll platform confirmed that it will broadcast the second season of the anime adaptation of the Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu light novels.

This second season is scheduled to air in two parts, with the first premiering on July 8, and the second part scheduled for January 2021. Tappei Nagatsuki, meanwhile, began publishing the light novels in April 2012 on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, and subsequently the Kadokawa publishing house began its paper publication with illustrations by Shinichirou Otsuka in January 2014.

The play has inspired multiple manga adaptations and one anime adaptation released in April 2016. In fact, this second season was slated to premiere in April, but was delayed due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the production.

Production team

Masaharu Watanabe is in charge of directing the series at White Fox Studios.
Masahiro Yokotani is in charge of composing the series, and writing and supervising the scripts.
Kyuuta Sakai is in charge of character design, while Tatsuya Koyanagi is in charge of monster design.
Kenichiro Suehiro is responsible for the composition of the soundtrack, under the sound direction of Jin Aketagawa.
The opening theme is performed by Konomi Suzuki and is titled "Realize".
The closing theme is performed by Nonoc and is titled "Memento".

Synopsis of Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu

From one moment to the next, Subaru Natsuki has been taken to another world when leaving a store. Puzzled, he tries to understand the situation but it only worsens more and more when he is attacked by thugs. Miraculously saved by a silver-haired young woman, Subaru deeply grateful decides to help her to return the favor. Unfortunately they fail and are brutally murdered. So Subaru awakens in the place he was originally sent to, discovering that he has a unique ability, "return from death." Will Subaru be able to survive and help her savior?
