Kidou Senshi Gundam: Senkou no Hathaway delays its release date

On the official Kidou Senshi Gundam franchise site, it was announced that the release of the Kidou Senshi Gundam: Senkou no Hathaway movie (aka Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway) will be delayed.


The film was scheduled to be released on July 23, however, the statement reported that production was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan, so a decision was made to delay it. The new release date will be announced as soon as it is decided.

Furthermore, the original Kidou Senshi Gundam: Senkou no Hathaway novels included illustrations and character designs by Haruhiko Mikimoto and mechanical designs by Yasuhiro Moriki. Now, this new project credits Pablo Uchida, Naoyuki Onda and Shigeki Kuhara as those in charge of adapting Mikimoto's designs to the new animation; while Hajime Katoki, Kimitoshi Yamane, Seiichi Nakatani and Nobuhiko Genba are making the new mechanical designs.

  • Junichi Suwabe as Kenneth Sleg.

Production team

  • Shukou Murase (Ergo Proxy, Gangsta, Witch Hunter Robin) is in charge of project management.
  • Yasuyuki Mutou (Basilisk, Kidou Senshi Gundam Unicorn RE: 0096, Deadman Wonderland) is in charge of writing the scripts.
  • Hiroyuki Sawano (Shingeki no Kyojin, Kidou Senshi Gundam NT) is composing the soundtrack.

The feature film is the second project of the "UC NexT 0100 Project" that is developed in the future of the UC timeline. The first project was the movie Kidou Senshi Gundam NT, which was released in Japan on November 30, 2018.
