The manga inspired a 24-episode anime adaptation produced by Wit Studio, directed by Daisuke Tokudo and screenplays written by Hiroshi Seko, released in April 2015.

Synopsis for Owari no Seraph

In 2012, the world came to an end due to a virus created by humans themselves, devastating the world population and only leaving children under the age of thirteen intact. It is at this time that the vampires emerged from their eternal rest and decided to subjugate the remaining population of Earth and offer them "protection" below the surface. But this "protection" comes at a price, which is the "donation" of blood to the captors, without anyone knowing that they are actually vampires.

At the age of twelve, Yuuichirou and his friend and orphan partner Mikaela plan an escape together with the other children from the Hyakuya Orphanage. However, this resulted in their deaths and Mikaela's sacrifice to ensure Yuuichirou's escape. This is saved by members of the Moon Demon Squadron, an extermination unit of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. Four years later, Yuuichirou dedicates his life to murdering vampires and taking revenge on them for the murder of his family.
