On the official site for the Tsukiuta The Animation franchise, it was announced that the season two premiere will be delayed again, now until October of this year.
The series was slated to premiere in July, having been delayed twice from its original premiere in 2019, however, according to the production team statement, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in development they were the cause of this new delay.
Production team
- Yukio Nishimoto (Ginga Tetsudo Monogatari, Justeen, Ongaku Shoujo) is in charge of directing the anime at Childrens Playground Entertainment studios.
- Natsuko Takahashi (Hakyuu Hōshin Engi, Norn9, Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari) is in charge of writing the scripts.
- Michinori Chiba (Kidō Senshi Gundam Double O, Kidou Senshi Gundam: Tekketsu no Orphans) and Ai Yokoyama (Uchū Senkan Tiramisu) are adapting Jiku's original designs to animation.
- Fujiwara is again credited with the original project and the story.
Tsukiuta: The Animation is the anime adaptation of a musical group and a series of CD dramas about "anthropomorphic months." The franchise focuses on the Tokyo idol unit, Six Gravity (made up of characters representing the months of December to May) and the rival Procellarum unit (made up of idols born in western Japan representing the months of June to November) .
