Police reported the arrest of one of Zest's executives, the company representing the idol group SKE48, on charges of violating the child pornography law in Japan.
According to the police report, 58-year-old executive Kazuya Ebine allegedly paid two underage girls (one 15 and the other 17 at the time) to carry out illicit sexual activities inside his car on 23 November 2019. In her arrest, Ebine mentioned that she "had only allowed them to get into her car."
Furthermore, the idol group SKE48 is one of the many sister groups of the renowned idol group AKB48, and has its established headquarters in the Sakae district in Nagoya city.
