The president of the visual novel developer company, AQUAPLUS, Naoya Shimokawa, reported through his Twitter account that the composer Susumu Mameda has passed away. Shimokawa's statement did not specify the cause or date of death. The announcement confirmed for the first time that Mameda also composed music under the pseudonym "Michio Kinugasa," a name that frequently appeared separately in various installments of the company.


Susumu Mameda composed the songs for several of AQUAPLUS 'major visual novels, including iconic songs on Shizuku, White Album, Utawarerumono, Routes, Comic Party, Tears to Tiara, Tears to Tiara II, To Heart 2, Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception , and Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth.
