The series indefinitely delayed airing new episodes due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on production, and has since rebroadcast the first episodes.
The series premiered on April 6, and the group Girls Square is made up of members of the cast of the television program Girls x Heroine Series, which premiered in 2019. Additionally, a manga adaptation will debut in the magazine's May issue. Ciao of the Shogakukan publishing house, next April 3.

Synopsis of Gal-gaku .: Hijiri Girls Square Gakuin
The story centers on the Holy Girls Square Academy, an elite institution that trains professional idols. This anime will focus on the girl group “Girls²”, who will seek to participate in the academy's annual event, the “Girls’ Arena ”.
