The entertainment companies Hori Pro and Hori Pro International announced that they have decided to cancel the theatrical adaptation of the manga written by Tatsuya Matsuki and illustrated by Shiro Usazaki, Act-Age.

In the statement released for the play entitled "Act-Age - Ginga Tetsudou no Yoru" it was explained that the production team took the arrest of author Tatsuya Matsuki on August 8 very seriously, and canceled the adaptation after discussing the affair. In this play, Shuu Matsui was listed as the director. Faced with the decision, thousands of fans have criticized the hypocrisy of Shueisha publishing house and other companies, having canceled this work but allowed authors such as Nobuhiro Watsuki, the author of Rurouni Kenshin and who was discovered in possession of child pornography in 2018, they are allowed to continue their jobs. Even a new series of live-action films based on this work are scheduled for release soon.

For its part, Act-Age was a manga series written by Tatsuya Matsuki and illustrated by Shiro Usazaki, who began their publication in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in January 2018. Its imminent cancellation derived from the arrest of author Tatsuya Matsuki for sexually assaulting two minors, was announced this morning by the publisher, canceling the release of the thirteenth volume and canceling its serialization as of the August 11 chapter.
