The manga began to be published in 2008. The Asahi Shimbun newspaper through its printing house has published 70 volumes of the series until February 20. The manga originated in South Korea, written by Gomdori Co., and illustrated by Hyun-Dong Han. In Japan, the series has sold more than 9 million copies, and 30 million worldwide.
Previously, Toei produced a 100-second animated short for the manga and released it in March 2019. At the time, the Mantan Web site of the Mainichi Shimbun newspaper listed it as a pilot film.
