Kadokawa has listed the release of a new short story collection for Hajime Kamoshida 's Seishun Buta Yarou Series ( Rascal Does Not Dream )", titled Seishun Buta Yarou wa Beach Queen no Yume wo Minai Plus ( Rascal Does Not Dream of a Beach Queen Plus )", scheduled for July 10 in Japan. The new release will feature illustrator Keiji Mizugochi, who illustrated the art for all of the previous installments in the light novel franchise.

Additionally, the collection will include a new story titled "Seishun Buta Yarou wa Tropical Summer no Yume wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of a Tropical Summer)."  The new collection focuses on the day of the Minegahara High School sports festival. Sakuta Azusagawa decides to cheer on the blue team, but is then ordered to join the ball throwing team. Sakuta is asked to replace his classmate and fellow young beach volleyball player, Minagi Otsu.

Considering that a new season of the anime adaptation is in production, it's no surprise that the publisher is preparing for the return of the literary franchise. So, be sure to check out the details below:

  • Kadokawa published the first novel in the series written by Hajime Kamoshida in April 2014, under the title " Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl-senpai no Yume wo Minai ( Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai )". The franchise celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024, and currently has over 3 million copies in circulation. The fifteenth and final installment, " Seishun Buta Yarou wa Dear Friend no Yume wo Minai ( Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend )", was published in October 2024.

  • The television anime adaptation of " Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai " premiered in October 2018 and ran for 13 episodes, covering the story up to the fifth light novel volume. The film " Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl ( Seishun Buta Yarou wa Yume-Miru Shoujo no Yume wo Minai )", adapting the 6th and 7th volumes, opened in Japan in June 2019.

  • A sequel anime project adapted novels 8 and 9: " Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out " and " Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid ". Finally, the college arc of the novels is being adapted into a television anime under the title " Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus ( Seishun Buta Yarou wa Santa Claus no Yume wo Minai )", scheduled to premiere in July of this year.
