A press release from TV Asahi listed that Tomato Soup 's manga , " A Witch's Life in Mongol ( Tenmaku no Jaadugar )", is getting an anime adaptation to be produced by Science SARU studios and will have the Western title, " Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia ".

The statement included a special illustration by Tomato Soup, the author of the work , as well as a commentary on it: “ More than 10 years before I started drawing Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia, I became obsessed with the history of the Mongol Empire and thought, “I wish there was an anime like this.” So I began to imagine, if an anime were created, what kind of characters would appear and what kind of story would unfold? Although I couldn’t make an anime, with a manga, I could do it alone. The ideas I started drawing on the back of sheets of photocopy paper slowly accumulated, until, without realizing it, they became a comic. And now, it’s about to become an anime. I’m so grateful to all the people who extended their hand to get it here. From now on, it will be handed over to the anime team, and I will also be eager to support and enjoy how Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia takes off. ”

Tomato Soup began publishing the manga through Akita Shoten 's digital service Souffle in September 2021, and also simultaneously through the same publisher's Mystery Bonita magazine since March of this year. The manga was nominated for the 16th Manga Taisho Awards in 2023, and was nominated again for the Manga Taisho Awards the following year, in 2024. 5/5
