A recent leak from well-known user " @/SugoiLITE " claimed that the anime adaptation of Mayu Murata 's manga " Honey Lemon Soda " will have a second season. While no scheduled premiere date was mentioned, it is understood that the information will eventually be confirmed considering the excellent reputation of the source.
It's no
surprise that this series ended up getting a second season , especially considering it's
one of the most successful shojo series of recent years. And of course, if
you're not familiar with it, here are the details below:
- The manga was launched by Mayu
Murata in Shueisha 's Ribon magazine in
December 2015. The first compiled book volume was released in May 2016,
and 27 volumes had been published by last December. By July, the
manga had more than 13 million copies in circulation. The story
was so popular that it inspired a live-action film in 2021.
- The anime adaptation was
produced by JCSTAFF and aired in Japan from January 8 to late March 2025,
as part of the Winter 2025 season, with a total of 12 episodes. It aired on various
television channels such as Fuji TV, Kansai TV and BS Fuji, as well as
streaming platforms such as FOD, U-NEXT and Crunchyroll. It was directed
by Hiroshi Nishikiori , with series composition by Akiko
Waba , character designs by Aimi Tanaka , and
music by Akira Kosemura .
- The story follows Uka Ishimori,
a girl who graduated from high school with so many emotional scars that
she's forgotten how to laugh, cry, or even say hello. But
everything changes when she reunites with a lemon-haired boy, who gives
her new hope that life can be sweeter if she dares to ask for help.
