A 78-year-old father makes wooden furniture for his daughter's otaku figures

For collectors of anime scale figures, half the fun is finding original ways to display them. If you want to show the characters in relaxed or domestic scenes, it is really necessary to have miniature furniture.

However, miniature furniture should be more accurately called "simplified furniture", since it will not be used by real people. This causes manufacturers to reduce their attention to detail, resulting in a lower quality end product than the actual full-size product.

However, this is not a problem for a Japanese Twitter user (@hula_takochan), who enjoys elegant, handcrafted and fully functional furniture for his scale figures. All the drawers and compartments of these cabinets can be opened and closed, and they are equipped with small metal accessories.
Even the "chabudai", a traditional low table that is used while sitting on a tatami floor, is functional, as its legs can be folded for storage, just as it is done in Japanese homes, where it is table is removed to place the futons at bedtime.

However, recently the girl behind the Twitter account revealed that the furniture is not made by herself, but is a gift from her father, a 78-year-old carpenter.

@ Hula_takochan's father has had a recent reduction in her number of clients, so in her spare time she decided to design and manufacture not only 1/10 scale Japanese furniture like the ones shown above, but also some Western-style ones.
Finally, although @hula_takochan's father has had a long career in carpentry, the artist commented on Twitter (@ 5ubi10) that he would like to continue putting his skills to use. "I wonder if there is demand for small furniture like this," he wrote. So far, things seem to be on the right track for this business idea.
