Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell game to have anime adaptation

Variety Entertainment magazine revealed that Netflix and Ubisoft are working on a new anime series based on the Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell video game franchise. Derek Kolstad, writer of the John Wick series, will be in charge of writing and producing the series. Details such as the production staff or its release date have not yet been announced and it has not been reported whether a Japanese studio will be in charge of animating the project.


Derek Kolstad is currently working on a live-action adaptation of the popular Hitman video game saga as well as a film adaptation of the Just Cause video game franchise.


About Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell

The first game in the Splinter Cell franchise was released in November 2002 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X consoles. The saga subsequently won six more titles. The franchise has a series of novels and an adaptation to a live-action film had also been announced, however, the tape could not be produced in its entirety and its status is on hiatus.
