The game is scheduled to be released this year in Japan for iOS and Android devices. The installment will maintain the animated aesthetics of the franchise and the gameplay will focus on a community of players known as "The Kingdom," which will allow players to cooperate, compete and establish guilds. Players will also be able to gather a total of 100 spirits known as "Imazen" to train.
Furthermore, Level 5 released the first game in the series, titled Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, for the PlayStation 3 console in Japan in 2011, after releasing Ni no Kuni: Shikkoku no Madoushi for the Nintendo DS console in 2010 and a game for smartphones. Bandai Namco Games subsequently released this game outside of Japan in 2013, and the installment featured animated scenes made by Studio Ghibli.
