Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds smartphone game reveals promo video

On the official YouTube channel for the smartphone game developed by Netmarble, Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, and based on the Level-5 franchise, Ni no Kuni, a new promotional video was posted.


The game is scheduled to be released this year in Japan for iOS and Android devices. The installment will maintain the animated aesthetics of the franchise and the gameplay will focus on a community of players known as "The Kingdom," which will allow players to cooperate, compete and establish guilds. Players will also be able to gather a total of 100 spirits known as "Imazen" to train.

Furthermore, Level 5 released the first game in the series, titled Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, for the PlayStation 3 console in Japan in 2011, after releasing Ni no Kuni: Shikkoku no Madoushi for the Nintendo DS console in 2010 and a game for smartphones. Bandai Namco Games subsequently released this game outside of Japan in 2013, and the installment featured animated scenes made by Studio Ghibli.

About Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds

The main character of the story will be a beta tester for "Project N", a virtual reality video game developed by the "Ichi no Kuni" company, Mirai Company. The world of "Project N" is known as "Ni no Kuni".

The MMORPG will feature hack-and-slash mechanics both in battles against computer-controlled enemies and in battles against other players. The game will have five classes: Rogue, Destroyer, Witch, Engineer, and Swordman. The development staff of the MMORPG, Netmarble's “Lineage 2: Revolution”, is developing this installment using Unreal Engine 4.
