Bushiroad Games announced that the franchise based on Kore Yamazaki 's manga , " Mahoutsukai no Yome ( The Ancient Magus' Bride )", will have its first visual novel this year. The video game will be titled " Mahoutsukai no Yome: The Phantom Midsummer and the Dreaming Journey " and is scheduled to be released for the Nintendo Switch console in Japan.

However, in mid-February, Bushiroad Games accidentally published the YouTube premiere page for the game's opening sequence , which was scheduled to release on March 23. Although the video itself was not visible, the video thumbnail was. It confirmed at the time that PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam) versions of "Mahoutsukai no Yome: The Phantom Midsummer and the Dreaming Journey" are or were also planned , with a final release date of October 2 in Japan.

For his part, Kore Yamazaki began publishing the manga through Mag Garden 's Monthly Comic Garden magazine in November 2013, and it is still being serialized. The work has been adapted into an anime in two seasons totaling 48 episodes, which premiered in the Fall 2017 (October-December) and Spring 2023 (April-June) periods . So far, no new sequel has been announced.

Synopsis of Mahoutsukai no Yome

Chise Hatori, a 15-year-old Japanese girl, was sold for five million pounds at auction to a tall masked knight. Abandoned at a young age and ridiculed by her peers for her unconventional behavior, she was willing to give herself to any buyer if it meant having a place to call home. Chained and headed for an unknown destination, she hears whispers of robed men along her path, muttering and complaining that such a buyer had gotten his hands on a rare Sleigh Beggy.

Ignoring the whispers, the mysterious man leads the girl into a study, where he reveals himself to be Elias Ainsworth, a wizard. After a brief confrontation and some teleportation magic, they both open their eyes in Elias’s quaint cottage in the English countryside. Greeted by fairies and surrounded by strange and wonderful beings upon her arrival, these events mark the beginning of Chise’s story as the ancient wizard’s apprentice and supposed bride.
