Synopsis
of Mahoutsukai no Yome
Chise
Hatori, a 15-year-old Japanese girl, was sold for five million pounds at
auction to a tall masked knight. Abandoned at a young age and ridiculed by her
peers for her unconventional behavior, she was willing to give herself to any
buyer if it meant having a place to call home. Chained and headed for an
unknown destination, she hears whispers of robed men along her path, muttering
and complaining that such a buyer had gotten his hands on a rare Sleigh Beggy.
Ignoring
the whispers, the mysterious man leads the girl into a study, where he reveals
himself to be Elias Ainsworth, a wizard. After a brief confrontation and some
teleportation magic, they both open their eyes in Elias’s quaint cottage in the
English countryside. Greeted by fairies and surrounded by strange and wonderful
beings upon her arrival, these events mark the beginning of Chise’s story as
the ancient wizard’s apprentice and supposed bride.
