The Fanza Games company announced that its DiGiNation division is developing a remake of the dating video game developed by ELF, Doukyuusei, and which is scheduled to launch on February 26, 2021 on PC in Japan. The ad also included a promotional image, based on the original game released in 1992.

ELF released the original game in 1992, followed by a sequel titled Doukyuusei 2 in 1995, followed by Kakyuusei in 1996 and finally Kakyuusei 2 in 2004. As in many other dating games, the game features a wide variety of girls with those that the protagonist can have a romance, mainly through interactions and decisions that the player must choose strategically.

The games inspired anime adaptations for both all ages and adults in OVA format. The first game inspired the four-episode OVA, End of Summer, in 1994, as well as the hentai OVA Doukyuusei: Climax in 1995. Furthermore, it also inspired a twelve-episode hentai OVA in 1996 (this was aired on television in Japan, without the erotic scenes), and the OVA Doukyuusei 2 Special: Sotsugyousei in 1999.

Finally, the Kakyuusei sequels inspired the four-episode Elf ban Kakyuusei OVA in 1997 (the last episode being the only one for adults), and an all-age series in 1999 aired on television. Kakyuusei 2 inspired an anime in 2004, the hentai Kakyuusei 2: Anthology OVA in 2006, and the hentai Kakyuusei 2: Sketchbook OVA in 2007.
