In this year's second edition of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine, it was revealed that author Yu Aida (Gunslinger Girl) will begin publication of a new manga entitled Yuuki Aru Mono Yorichire (Those with courage, come and give your lives), in the fifth edition of the magazine to be published in Japan on February 26.

The magazine promotes the manga with the text: "An immortal girl. An ancient warrior who could not die. They both yearn for death. How will their lives burn? A Meiji Era story about the meaning of life!" In fact, Aida had already mentioned in November 2020 that she was working on a new series.

On the other hand, Aida is also the author of the manga Gunslinger Girl, which was published through Kadokawa Publishing's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh between May 2002 and September 2012, with a total of 15 compilation volumes. The work inspired an anime adaptation of thirteen episodes produced by Madhouse Studios and released in October 2003, followed by a second season of thirteen episodes produced by Artland Studios and released in January 2008.

Synopsis of Gunslinger Girl

In the heart of Italy, the Social Welfare Agency is rescuing young girls from hospital beds and giving them a second chance at life using the latest in cybernetic advances. With their artificially enhanced bodies, the girls are brainwashed and trained as killers to do the Italian government's dirty work. Despite all the modifications, they remain children at heart, fighting for the recognition of their loved ones, even knowing that the love they feel is manufactured. This tragic story unfolds as these girls deal with their emotions in an agency that treats them as nothing more than ruthless killers. But, things can't always be controlled, can they?
