The manga Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san will be adapted to the anime

In the official Twitter account for the Magazine Pocket service, from Kodansha publishing house, it was announced that the comedy and romance manga series written and illustrated by Keigo Maki, Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san (in English known as Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie), will have an adaptation to the anime.

The series will be produced by Doga Kobo Studios. Other production details and the release date will be announced soon.

On the other hand, the author Keigo Maki thanked the production committee for the adaptation of his work, also mentioned that he looks forward to seeing his work transformed into anime, as another spectator in the audience.

Maki began publishing this manga through his Twitter account under the title Kawaii dake ja Nai Onnanoko, and later began publishing it through the Kodansha publishing house's Magazine Pocket site in February 2019. The publisher has so far published a total of five compilation volumes.

Maki also illustrates the manga Mokusei Shoujo Ryuuseigun, which is written by Tomoki Kido, and has been published on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket website since 2017, with a total of three compilation volumes published to date.

Synopsis of Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san

Shikimori seems to be the perfect bride: cute, she knows how to create a nice atmosphere around her, she's sweet when she wants to be... but she has a pretty dark side that only comes up under certain circumstances. And her boyfriend Izumi loves to be with her when this happens! A fun romantic comedy between high school boys with a plot twist that fits perfectly with today's romantic comedy lovers.
