Genshin Impact ‘trolls’ Paimon in his new commercials

On the official site for the smartphone game developed and distributed by miHoYo, Genshin Impact, a series of commercials was published that will be distributed on terrestrial television in Japan (specifically TOKYO MX and BS11) from February 6. All the narrations were done by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kirito in Sword Art Online), who is also playing the new character, Xiao, "Guardian Yaksha."

It should be noted that the commercials that became the most viral on networks were the ones entitled 「Genshin Partner Presentation - Part 2」 and 「Genshin Partner Presentation - Extra Edition」. In these videos, the narrator introduces some characters from the popular video game, but in the first one he omits Paimon, only mentioning a "Hehe" instead. The character mentions a characteristic phrase that went viral since his first appearance in the video game: «Hehe, te nandayo! (What do you mean "Hehe" ?!) ».

In the second video, the narrator again introduces some other characters from the installment, and this time leaves Paimon at the end referring to her as "Hijou Shoku (非常食 - Emergency Food)", generating a funny reaction in the character.

It should be mentioned that it is not the first time that the character is presented in this way, in fact, in a commercial published in September 2020, the narrator also introduced Paimon in this way, generating the same reaction.

The free-to-play game developed and distributed by miHoYo was released for iOS and Android devices, as well as for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows globally on September 28. The "Update 1.3" was released on February 3 at a global level.

Genshin Impact Synopsis

In a world called Teyvat, certain individuals chosen by the gods are given “Vision”, magical gems that give their bearers the ability to control an element. The player starts out as a traveler of unknown origin searching for a lost relative, and can choose between a male or female avatar of the Traveler. As the adventure progresses, the player controls several other characters that the Traveler encounters during his journey, each with unique personalities and abilities, as they undertake missions to understand the truth behind the primordial gods of this world.
