Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon a Time surpasses 6.89 billion yen in profit

Twenty-eight days after its release in Japan, the film Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon a Time (Shin Evangelion Gekijouban: ||), the fourth and final part of the Rebuild of Evangelion film project, reported having sold 4,513,374 tickets to a cumulative gross of 6,898,613,200 yen (about 62.4 million dollars). The film held the top position in weekly earnings for the fourth week in a row and Studio Khara released a special video in commemoration.


Since its third week, the film had already surpassed the cumulative gross of the Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo film, which grossed 5.3 billion yen, making it the highest grossing film in all of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Finally, the film was released in theaters in Japan on March 8, after being delayed from its previous dates due to production issues and, more recently, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the planning of the premiere. .

In 2015, the world is on the brink of destruction.
