During the Aniplex Online Fest 2023 event, the first promotional video for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Misato Mitsumi , Tatsuki Amazuyu , and Tamiki Wakaki , 16bit Sensation , titled 16bit Sensation ANOTHER LAYER , was revealed . The video confirms that its premiere is scheduled for October 4, 2023 in Japan . More members of the voice cast were also revealed. While the Crunchyroll platform will be in charge of distributing the series in the West.
For its part, the original story for the production will follow Konoha Akisato, an eroge-loving illustrator, who opens the package of her classic game, and finds herself transported back in time.
Synopsis of 16bit Sensation
This work is the work of three people: manga artist Tamiki Wakami, known for his work on “Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai” and “Kekkon suru tte, Hontou desu ka”, and legendary bishojo game creators Misato Mitsumi and Tatsuki Amaduyu, from Aqua Plus, who have worked on the character design and illustrations of the Utawarerumono series. It is an industrial manga set in a bishojo game development company in the 1990s.
The manga “16bit Sensation: Watashi to Minna ga Tsukutta Bishōjo Game” follows Meiko Uehara, a college student who begins working part-time at a PC store in 1992. However, this store is a front for her real business: an erotic video game developer for bishoujo games. Due to the sudden departure of the staff, Meiko ends up as a sub-graphic artist – even though she has never drawn an adult illustration before. Her life as a creator begins as she strives to make an erotic game without blunders.
