The
final chapter of Shinichi Fukuda 's manga " Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru ( My
Dress-Up Darling )" has been published with the latest
issue of Young Gangan magazine. While the chapter featured the
conclusion of the story, it also mentions that there will be a bonus
chapter and epilogue to be published at a later date (likely included
in the final compiled book volume).
Although
fans had hoped this conclusion would pave the way for a new story arc in the
future, the work ultimately came to a completely unexpected conclusion. In
fact, the author didn't explain why she decided to end the story so abruptly,
but it's unlikely the publisher canceled the story.
Regarding
the anime adaptation, a second season is currently underway and is scheduled to
premiere this year in Japan. CloverWorks Studios continues to handle
production, while fans continue to wait for more details on this long-announced
sequel. In fact, messages from production members and the voice cast
were shared on the anime's official website to celebrate the conclusion of the
series after more than seven years of serialization:
- After seven years of
serialization, "Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru" (My Dress-Up
Darling) concludes its run in issue No. 7 of Young Gangan magazine. Over these seven years,
Shinichi Fukuda's work has touched and moved many people. Thank you for
all your hard work! From the "Bisque Doll" anime, messages of
gratitude have poured in for the beloved author.
- Director Keisuke Shinohara - Fukuda-sensei,
congratulations on the conclusion of the "Sono Bisque Doll"
series! I still can't believe the story has come to an end. I feel very
sad. Through this work, I have learned so many things. It's a shame that
we can no longer continue to see the story of Gojo-kun and Marin-chan, but
I want to bid them a proper farewell. I will continue to work hard on the
production of the anime while contemplating the great figure of
Fukuda-sensei.
- Series Composition / Script
Yoriko Tomita -Fukuda-sensei, congratulations on the completion of the
serialization of "Sono Bisque Doll"! I still clearly remember
the first time I read the manga and was captivated by Marin's expression
on page 64 of volume 2. I felt that at that instant, the second hand of
Marin's love for Gojo began to move... Perhaps, even now, it remains my
favorite scene in the entire story. Every time I read "Bisque
Doll," I was energized by Marin enjoying her passions, and seeing
Gojo working hard at making clothes, I felt motivated and sent my support.
I have truly enjoyed each volume... I am enormously honored to have been
able to experience this work. Will you be taking a break for a while? I
would love for you to look forward to the continuation of the anime.
- Marin Kitagawa - Hina Suguta - Congratulations on the
completion of the series! As children, we give ourselves completely to
what we love, but as we grow up, we often leave many of those feelings
behind. "Sono Bisque Doll" reminded me how important it is to
always keep our love for our passions pure. And Marin-chan taught me that
it's okay to sincerely express what you love. That's why I want to shout
it out right now: I actually feel so sad I'm almost crying while writing
this!!! That's how important "Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru"
is to me—it's a treasure in my life. Thank you for letting me meet
Marin-chan and Gojo-kun! I will continue to play Marin Kitagawa with all
my heart, so as to never let this shine fade. Truly, thank you so much for
all your hard work!
- Gojo Wakana - Shoya Ishige - Shinichi Fukuda-sensei,
I can only feel grateful for having created such a wonderful work as
"Bisque Doll" and for having allowed me to voice Gojo Wakana.
Truly, thank you so much. For me, "Sono Bisque Doll" is not only
a story that fills me with happiness when I read it. It has also been a
support in difficult times, when I felt like my heart was breaking. It is
a work that has reminded me of what is truly important and has given me
the courage to move forward. I am deeply glad to have encountered
"Sono Bisque Doll." I hope that "Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo
Suru" will continue to be loved forever. And I will do my best to
make the second season of the anime a wonderful work. Congratulations on
the end of serialization! Truly, thank you so much for everything!
