On the official site for the anime adaptation of the light
novels written by Yuu Okano and illustrated by Jaian,
“The
Unwanted Undead Adventurer (Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha ),
the second promotional video of the project was revealed. The video confirms
that the premiere is scheduled for January 8, 2024 in Japan, and
shows a fragment of the musical themes, which include:
- Producer,
DJ and musical artist JUVENILE will perform the opening
song titled “Immortal”, while Mao Abe will perform the
closing theme titled “Keep Your Fire Burning.”
Okano and Jaian began publishing the light novels through
the publisher Overlap in
October 2017. The work inspires an adaptation a manga by Haiji Nakasone that
is published on the website Comic Gardo from the
publisher Overlap since November 2017.
Sinopsis of The Unwanted Undead Adventurer
Rentt Faina, a 25-year-old adventurer, has been fighting
monsters for over a decade. However, without much talent for the job, Rentt
always ends up fighting slimes and goblins for a paltry amount of money a day.
Little does he know that all this is about to change when
he discovers a secret path to the Moon Labyrinth. What awaits him at the end of
the road, however, is not treasure or riches, but a legendary dragon that
wastes no time in devouring him. Shortly after, Rentt wakes up, but discovers
that he has not died, nor is he alive either. Now it's just a pile of bones.
Armed with nothing more than his trusty sword, his utility belt, and a
terrifying new appearance, Rentt will begin a new adventure as a skeleton in
search of a mythical object that will hopefully return him to his human form.
