Members of a popular comment forum have immersed themselves
in an intense debate about the reasons behind the little information
there is about the sequel to “ Sono Bisque
Doll wa Koi wo Suru ( My Dress-Up Darling ).”
With more than a year since its announcement, fans are eager for more content
from this attention-grabbing series in 2022. However, even though the
manga has already progressed far enough, there have been no significant
updates.
Among the many theories circulating, one of the most
mentioned is that although “ Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru ” was
undoubtedly popular at the time, it was “the least popular of the popular ,”
especially compared to other 2022 hits. such as “ Chainsaw Man ”,
“ Lycoris Recoil ” and “ Bocchi the Rock! “.
This perception could have influenced the production priorities of the
committee members and the CloverWorks animation studio .
Additionally, the upcoming anime adaptation of “ 2.5
Dimensional Seduction ,” another cosplay-focused franchise produced
by Shueisha , could be drawing comparisons and competition if
“Sono Bisque Doll” returns this year. This situation could have led to
a strategic pause in the development of the sequel.
However, the most pressing concern revolves around
the current state of the career of voice actress Hina Suguta , who
plays Marin Kitagawa herself. Since she left her management agency,
Amino Produce, in mid-2023, Suguta has been working as a freelancer and has had
no relevant involvement in the anime industry. This situation, where
the actress has to actively seek opportunities, may have negatively affected
the progression of the sequel project.
In contrast, his colleague Shoya Ishige, who played
Wakana Gojo, has landed leading roles in several anime productions since “Sono
Bisque Doll,” suggesting a career on the rise. As if that were not
enough, the band Spira Spica , responsible for the opening of
the series, has also faced setbacks. The loss of their guitarist and
bassist in August 2022 has kept the band inactive since then, which could have
hampered plans for the new season if they contemplated the band participating
again.
In short, a combination of factors, from perceived
popularity to individual issues of cast members and production crew, could
be contributing to the stagnation of the “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru”
sequel project. Meanwhile, fans continue to eagerly await news about
the future of this beloved series.
