A recent leak assured that the anime adaptation of
the manga written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu , “ Dandadan ”, will have
a second season. It should be noted that the series has not yet been released,
since it is scheduled for the Fall-2024 season (October-December) .
It is also important to mention that it
is possible that this is not a “second season”, but rather a “second part”, as
has been a trend in the anime industry in recent years. However,
not all fans have been positive with this type of execution, as separating an
adaptation into two parts only makes the project lose interest during the time
it takes for the second part to arrive.
Yukinobu Tatsu began
publishing the manga through publisher Shueisha 's Shonen
Jump Plus digital service in April 2021, where it is still in
serialization. Tatsu is also the author of other serialized works such as
“ Seigi no Rokugou ” and “ Fire Ball! “, as
well as one-shots such as “ Yamada Kiki Ippatsu ” in 2019 and
“ Renai Saibaihou ” in 2015.
Synopsis of Dandadan
After being aggressively rejected, Momo
Ayase finds herself angry when she bumps into a boy who is being bullied. Saved
by her reckless kindness, the occult-obsessed boy tries to talk to her about
supernatural interests he believes they share. Rejecting her claims, Ayase
proclaims that she is, instead, a believer in ghosts, starting an argument
between them over which one is real. In a bet to determine who is right, the
two decide to separately visit places related to the occult and the
supernatural: Ayase visits the former and the boy the latter.
When the two arrive at their respective
places, it turns out that neither of them was wrong and that both the occult
and ghosts exist. This marks the beginning of the adventure of Ayase and the
boy, who shares a name with Ayase's favorite idol, Ken Takakura, as they try to
fix the surreal supernatural and sci-fi elements around them to return to a
normal life.
